Job Title: Industrial Custodian

Location: 3606 S Saginaw Rd, Midland, MI 48640
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Facility Manager

Job Summary:

The Industrial Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within an industrial or manufacturing facility. This role supports daily operations by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.

Shift:

• Monday through Friday
• 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Compensation:

• $14.00 – $15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors using industrial cleaning equipment
• Remove trash, recyclables, and industrial waste in compliance with site procedures
• Clean restrooms, break rooms, locker rooms, and office spaces
• Wipe down surfaces, equipment exteriors, and high-touch areas
• Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies
• Maintain cleanliness in and around production areas without disrupting operations
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper chemical handling and PPE use
• Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance issues
• Assist with light facility maintenance and special cleaning projects as needed

Requirements:

• Steel toe boots required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must have reliable personal transportation (limited transportation within gated facility)
• Ability to pass a clean background check
• Ability to pass a drug screen (including marijuana)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous custodial or industrial cleaning experience is a plus
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, etc.)
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment (noise, dust, temperature changes)

Work Environment:

• Industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production areas
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
