As a Shop Drawing Specialist at INFORM Studio, you will contribute to the execution of thoughtful, site-responsive projects that focus on the end-user and their experience of space. The Shop Drawing Specialist is passionate about the detailing required to develop a comprehensive set of construction documents into a clear set of instructions for manufacturing modular housing. Within a multidisciplinary design firm, this person will have the opportunity to work in close association with the architecture and engineering disciplines under the supervision of a senior architect; and contribute to important facets of changing the design and delivery process of affordable and workforce housing through the development of shop drawings.

Responsibilities and Duties

• The Shop Drawing Specialist duties include preparation, revision, and coordination of architectural drawings and construction documents, and coordination with suppliers and / or subcontractors.
• Preparing shop drawings using Revit and Arkance according to an agreed schedule with the project manager.
• Comparing the structural & architectural drawings coordination between finishing, electric, mechanical & plumbing works quality, reviewing infrastructure drawings & coordinate model with the project layout.
• Maintains shop drawings log by entering data and completing backups.
• Reviews plans prepared by subcontractors.
• Works closely with the Technical Coordinator and Senior Architect.
• Quantity surveying for the entire finishing works in the project.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Associate degree in architecture or BIM drafting
• 3-5 years of drafting/shop drawing experience
• Excellent User in Revit to produce documents
• Experience using Arkance software strongly desired
• Parametric design capabilities in Revit/Dynamo
• Parametric design capabilities in Rhino/Grasshopper a plus
• Ability to quickly learn modeling plug in applications
• Leader in Bill of Quantities
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication skills
• Construction/Building Framing experience is a plus
