Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts.
• Verify part conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and AS9102 forms.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and discrepancies to relevant teams.
• Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and manufacturing work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to address and resolve inspection findings.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages, bore gages, optical comparators).
• Familiarity with relevant quality standards and documentation requirements (e.g., AS9102, PPAP, ISO 9001).
• Ability to operate and/or interpret results from Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or other automated inspection equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced GD&T certification (e.g., ASME Y14.5)
• Proficiency in CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
• Experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 internal auditing
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods
