Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing processes.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot existing production tooling to ensure operational efficiency.
• Analyze tooling failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Optimize tooling designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and extended lifespan.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to define tooling specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components.
• Manage tooling projects from conceptualization through successful production launch.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, fabrication, or maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, or machining.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize tooling performance and longevity.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tooling materials, and heat treatment processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for tooling design validation.
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Prior experience with robotics or automation integration in tooling setups.
• Advanced knowledge of exotic material properties and heat treatment processes for tool steels.
