The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and planning to optimize inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and foster strong vendor relationships.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or delivery.
• Stay informed on market trends, commodity prices, and new technologies relevant to procurement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory control.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for reporting and optimization.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM) or project management (PMP).
• Experience with international sourcing, import/export regulations, and Incoterms.
• Demonstrated ability in data analysis for spend optimization and supplier performance.
