Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts.
• Verify part conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Utilize and interpret data from precision measuring instruments including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, collaborating on root cause analysis.
• Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles on technical blueprints.
• Support the resolution of inspection discrepancies with engineering and production teams.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines).
• Strong understanding and practical experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and industry standards, particularly AS9102.
• Solid knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and their application in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to accurately record inspection results, create detailed reports, and identify non-conformances.
• Proven ability to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
• Advanced understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.
• Certification in a recognized quality discipline (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
• Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing engineering designs.
