Middle School Teacher

South Olive Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, enthusiastic, and dedicated Middle School Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Christian education, a heart for discipling students, and the ability to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages both academic and spiritual growth.

The overall responsibility of the Middle School Teacher is to plan, instruct, and direct middle school classes while partnering with families and staff to support the mission of South Olive Christian School: “Equipping students with wisdom and knowledge to become effective Christ-followers and bring peace and restoration to earth.”

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for middle school students
• Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom culture
• Support students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain consistent communication with parents, staff, and administration
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Model Christian character and servant leadership both inside and outside the classroom

Qualifications & Requirements

• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident in daily life and testimony
• Faithfully attend and support a local church whose beliefs align with the school’s Statement of Faith
• Agree to uphold and support the South Olive Christian School Statement of Faith
• Demonstrate a passion for working with elementary and middle school students
• Possess strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to support varying learning styles and student needs
• Exhibit professionalism, initiative, discretion, and sound judgment
• Maintain strong interpersonal and customer service skills when interacting with students, families, and staff
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related educational technology platforms

Education Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A degree in Education or a related field
• A valid Michigan teaching certificate/license, or willingness to work toward certification
