Tooling Technician

**Tooling Technician - Kalamazoo, MI** **Job Description** Seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Tooling Technician to add to our growing team! This individual will be responsible for working within a team to repair molds, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling equipment involved in plastic injection molds and assembly of plastic products. **Responsibilities** + Train personnel in the proper use of equipment. + Read blueprints and use measuring instruments and math to build repair parts for broken molds, jigs, and fixtures. + Maintain adequate repair supplies such as core and ejector pins, die springs, and other materials related to repairs. + Modify molds, jigs, and fixtures to correct problems. + Inspect and verify changes made by outside mold-making vendors to assure that work performed meets standards and specifications detailed in purchase and engineering change orders. + Perform skilled work involving close tolerances and which is above the competence level of tool cleaner. + Maintain records of all repairs, modifications, and inventory performed. **Essential Skills & Qualification** + 2+ years of tooling, plastic injection, mold, or jig and fixture experience. + Proficiency in mold repair, die maintenance, and troubleshooting + Ability to read blueprints + Ability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly. + Ability to operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes. **Why Work Here?** Join a leading Tier 1 Automotive Supplier specializing in injection molded interior trim. Training is provided by the most experienced tooling technician and the tooling manager. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.70/hr.
