Quality Inspector

job summary:
A Quality Inspector is needed for a multinational power management company in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This role requires a quality inspection professional with at least three years of experience to perform receiving and final inspections, evaluate product compliance through GD&T and blueprint reading, and complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports in a regulated manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:

• Provide inspection support for both Receiving and Final Inspection processes.

• Support month-end shipment demands to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Inspect products using manual layout, calipers, micrometers, and plug/pin gages.

• Evaluate product compliancy by reading blueprints and applying GD&T standards.

• Technically validate certified paperwork against blueprint specifications.

• Prepare and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) per AS9102 requirements.

• Conduct Assembly Floor Layer Process Audits and 5S audits to maintain safety and quality standards.

• Utilize Windows-based software including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word for daily tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment within the last 5 years.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a quality department within the last 5 years.

• Documented experience with blueprint reading, industry specifications, and GD&T within the last 5 years.

• Documented experience evaluating and certifying AS9102 First Article Inspections.

• Documented proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow technical specifications and work orders in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience specifically in receiving inspection.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft applications and SAP software.

• Certified training in blueprint reading and GD&T.

• Previous experience with AS9100 compliance standards.

• Experience writing First Article Inspection Reports.
