Position Summary:
The dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen. This individual ensures that dishes, cookware, and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use. A clean environment is essential to provide exceptional dining experiences, and the dishwasher contributes to this by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and Sanitize: Clean dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans promptly and according to health and safety regulations.
- Operate Dishwashing Equipment: Safely operate commercial dishwashing machines and hand-washing stations.
- Maintain Kitchen Cleanliness: Clean and maintain dishwashing areas, kitchen equipment, and floors to ensure a sanitary working environment.
- Waste Management: Remove trash, recyclables, and compost regularly to designated disposal areas.
- Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and stocking deliveries as needed.
- Team Support: Work with other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and assist chefs and prep cooks as required.
- Compliance: Adhere to safety and health regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to stay focused under pressure.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift.
- Must handle hot items and cleaning chemicals safely.
Work Schedule:
- Shifts may vary based on the needs of the restaurant, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time and full-time positions available.
