Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Delta Township, MI
Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Develop, deliver, and track EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, and reporting systems, including OSHA logs and environmental reports.
- Lead the development and implementation of EHS programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal and state EHS regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting EHS risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective EHS training programs to diverse employee groups.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with EHS management software (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- HAZWOPER Trainer certification or advanced first aid/EMT certification.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
