POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Day Porter – Birmingham, MI

Schedule : Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Reports To: Director of Facilities

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities, the day porter has the primary responsibility for maintaining multiple commercial buildings in such a way to promote health and safety while ensuring a comfortable work atmosphere. It is the role of the porter to follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules at each facility including, but not limited to, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, common areas and interior/exterior entrances. The porter may also be responsible for performing various duties not stipulated below.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. You will work with management to create an effective schedule, which will include day-to-day routines and work timetable.

Responsibilities:

· Detailed cleaning/dusting of executive offices.

· Prepare conference room and entertaining areas before and after important meetings.

· Spot clean common areas including elevator, conference room, kitchen, lounge and reception areas.

· Monitor, spot clean and service restrooms.

· Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.

· Remove litter and rubbish from main common rooms.

· Maintain janitorial supply inventory.

· Monitor and sweep parking lot areas and front sidewalks.

· Water and prune exterior plants as needed.

· Accept deliveries as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned. These additional duties may include general building and grounds maintenance, snow removal and salting, etc.

Recommended Qualifications:

· High school diploma or relevant qualification required.

· 12 months janitorial experience.

· Prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner.

· Professional and courteous demeanor with commitment to excellence in customer service.

· Ability work as part of a team.

· Ability to multi-task; maintain flexibility and to work under time constraints and other stresses.

· Must have Valid Driver’s License.
