Job Description - Loader Operator
Calo Companies is searching for a Loader Operator to join our team. This is a full-time position with benefits and year-round work.
Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate small front loader, forklift, or other equipment to move and load soil, rock and other landscape materials
- Load materials in designated areas as well as into customer trucks and trailers
- Perform daily machine inspection before and after use, routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
- Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
- Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor any change in machine performance to identify potential malfunctions & report to the maintenance department
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience operating front-end loader, and forklift
- A team and safety-oriented mentality
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Knowledge of landscape materials
- Good verbal communication skills
- Capable of working independently when needed
- Able to promote a positive and safe work environment in a physically demanding work environment
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Work in an outdoor environment
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit
- Must remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in work area
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl
