Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first articles according to specifications.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Generate and complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) accurately.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Verify material certifications, special processes, and finish requirements against design data.
• Document and report non-conformances and discrepancies to engineering and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve inspection findings and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Expertise in using a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), such as AS9102 forms.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and related inspection procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM programming experience
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Proficiency with CAD software for model-based inspection
• Ability to train or mentor junior inspectors
