Operating Room RN The OR RN is responsible for assessing patient needs before and during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety throughout. Develops, implements, evaluates, and documents individualized care plans, provides leadership to the surgical team, and maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care (40%): Assess surgical patients, develop and implement care plans, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care to ensure safety. Room & Procedure Management (30%): Supervise room activities, anticipate schedule changes, assemble equipment/supplies, assist anesthesia, and maintain sterile field. Communication (20%): Coordinate with patients, families, physicians, OR team, leadership, and ancillary departments. Professional Development (10%): Participate in in-services, meetings, and educational opportunities to support leadership and growth.
