Position Overview
The Tree Trimming Foreman is responsible for leading a crew in all aspects of tree trimming and removal operations. This includes overseeing daily job site operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and operating or transporting equipment using a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a tree trimming crew on job sites.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Operate aerial lifts, chippers, chainsaws, and other equipment.
- Perform ground and aerial tree work, including pruning, removals, and clean-up.
- Transport crews and equipment to and from job sites (CDL required).
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and supervisors.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage by the crew.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Valid CDL (Class B or higher) – Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tree trimming or related field
- Proven leadership and crew management experience
- Strong knowledge of tree care techniques and safety procedures (ANSI Z133 compliance preferred)
- Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist or willingness to become certified
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Experience with DOT compliance and maintenance logs
