The General Manager (GM) of NoMad Hotel Detroit is a visionary leader who personifies the brand’s signature blend of refined hospitality, culinary artistry, and design-driven luxury. About the Property
NoMad Detroit redefines luxury lifestyle hospitality in the heart of Detroit at the iconic Michigan Central Station, anchoring the west side of the meticulously restored 30-acre tech and cultural hub. Expected to open in 2027, this first-of-its-kind U.S. property from NoMad and Hilton will bring ~180 guestrooms and 30 suites to the previously unused upper floors, offering sweeping views of Corktown, downtown, and Canada.

Blending historic grandeur with contemporary sophistication, the hotel will showcase NoMad’s signature restaurant and bar concepts within revitalized historic spaces and celebrate Detroit’s creative spirit through collaborations with local artists and makers. Guests will also enjoy curated wellness facilities and bespoke amenities, all capturing the city’s rich culture, design legacy, and vibrant future.

A destination for travelers and locals alike, NoMad Detroit embodies elevated design, immersive experiences, and a true sense-of-place luxury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations: Oversee all aspects of hotel operations in alignment with NoMad’s curated luxury lifestyle concept, ensuring an exceptional and personalized guest journey.
  • Guest-Centric Culture: Foster a culture rooted in storytelling, artistry, and high-touch service.
  • Culinary Leadership: Champion NoMad’s dining-forward identity by collaborating with culinary teams to maintain world-class food and beverage experiences.
  • Financial Stewardship: Drive profitability through strategic revenue management and innovative boutique hospitality practices.
  • Talent Development: Attract, mentor, and retain top industry talent, building a team of passionate, creative professionals.
  • Community Engagement: Forge partnerships with local artisans, designers, and cultural influencers to enrich the hotel’s identity and guest experience.
    Operational Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service integrity across all functions.

What are we looking for?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years in hotel management, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven leadership experience in luxury or lifestyle hospitality, ideally within boutique or independent-minded brands.
  • Expertise in Food & Beverage operations, with a strong understanding of NoMad’s dining-centric philosophy.
  • Robust financial acumen and experience managing boutique hospitality profitability models.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tailored, memorable guest experiences that foster loyalty.
  • Passion for design, culture, and immersive hospitality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a dynamic and collaborative leadership style.
