Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Quality Inspector:

• Inspect inbound and outbound scrap metal loads for quality, contamination, and grade accuracy
• Identify and separate ferrous vs. non-ferrous materials as needed
• Ensure materials meet customer specifications and company standards
• Monitor for prohibited or hazardous materials (e.g., sealed containers, flammable items, radioactive materials)
• Document inspection results, discrepancies, and rejected loads
• Communicate with scale operators, yard staff, and management regarding load status
• Assist with directing traffic and material flow within the yard
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Previous experience in scrap metal, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred
• Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to make quick, accurate decisions
• Ability to work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Background check and drug screening required
