Medical Receptionist

Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA) is considered as one of the premier cardiology practices in Michigan. Established in 2000, our 11 board certified cardiologists and 8 mid-level providers, provide services at 5 office locations and multiple area hospitals. This position will be both administrative and clinical.

Duties:

• Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the clinic
• Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or personnel
• Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
• Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
• Maintain patient records and update information as needed
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
• Assist with rooming patients
• Perform vitals and EKG's
• Refill Medications
• Assist with submitting prior authorizations for medications

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a medical setting, cardiology a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using phone systems and other office equipment
