About Dynamic Underground
Dynamic Underground is a rapidly growing underground utilities contractor based in Metro-Detroit, proudly serving the surrounding areas. We specialize in directional drilling, excavation, and hydro- excavation services. Our crews work on a variety of infrastructure projects, and accurate project planning is essential to our success. We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and help ensure our projects are competitively and accurately priced, while supporting the efficient execution of our work.
Job Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for underground utility and excavation projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Prepare and submit competitive project bids
- Work with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate project budgeting
- Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project documentation
- Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate with clients, engineers, and vendors when needed
Required Experience
- Experience estimating underground utilities, excavation, drilling, or civil construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, and equipment
- Experience with estimating software and spreadsheets
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in underground utilities or civil construction
- Experience in various underground utility projects
- Familiarity with local municipal utility work
