International Servicing Representative UAW Sourcing Department
The Sourcing Department supports important functions to support the membership within the International Union, UAW. The ideal candidate will be independent and able to handle multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership, bargaining, and organizing experience, along with knowledge of local union operations.
This position is based at UAW Solidarity House in Detroit, Michigan. Extensive national travel may be required, including extended stays and work during evenings and weekends as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve UAW membership and build our union.
- Educate and collaborate with local union leadership around sourcing and other issues. Support local union and membership in sourcing projects.
- Organize and present data from a variety of sources.
- Basic employer research to present overview of employer and industry/sector to local union and membership.
- Develop training modules and facilitate training workshops to staff, local union leadership, and membership.
- Lead sourcing projects. Project management/follow-up/accountability.
- Participate in quality/efficiency/make-buy and other projects at worksites.
- Lead and facilitate meetings.
- Participate in ongoing internal UAW training.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, commercial trends, and employer activities.
- Lead and facilitate meetings, trainings, and workshops.
- Completion of assigned tasks and projects on time and in a professional manner.
- Support International Union, UAW institutional policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Proactively participate in improving the UAW Sourcing Department and its functioning in serving our membership.
- Collaborate with staff from other UAW National Departments.
- Constructively engage with management.
- Work collaboratively and mentor other Sourcing staff.
- Prepare reports for internal UAW audiences.
- Evening work and irregular hours expected.
- Roles and responsibilities require travel.

- Knowledge of LUIS (Local Union Information System) platform.

- Diplomatic approach to coalition and relationship building with different constituencies, regions, and departments within the union.

Salary and Benefits
This is a full time, in person position based in Detroit, Michigan. The UAW offers a competitive salary for this position, including health, retirement, and other benefits. Relocation may be available.
