Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for a 13-week contract in St Ignace, MI. The DON will oversee all nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff management in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical & Resident Care: Oversee nursing services, resident assessments, care planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Leadership & Staff Management: Supervise, recruit, train, and evaluate nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs). Foster a positive work environment and address performance issues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with CMS, state health department regulations, and facility policies. Lead survey preparedness and Quality Assurance (QAPI) initiatives.
• Administrative Duties: Assist with budget management, staffing efficiency, nursing documentation, and strategic planning.
• Staff Development: Oversee ongoing education, infection control programs, and competency evaluations for nursing staff.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years DON Long-Term Care (LTC) experience (Required)
• Associate Degree in Nursing - (Required)
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing - (Preferred)
• CPR certification - (Required)
• Infection Control Certified - (Required)
• Experience with Matrix - (Preferred)

State License Requirements:

• Michigan
