PURPOSE/SCOPE:

The Sales Account Manager will act as the primary liaison between Business Development Directors and Trans-Matic, ensuring seamless communication and coordination to meet customer needs. This role includes managing customer accounts, overseeing the sales process, and addressing customer-related issues. The ideal candidate will excel in managing relationships, providing timely solutions, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires extensive travel to customer locations, ensuring face-to-face engagement, relationship-building, and on-site support.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Account Management:

  • Serve as an essential point of contact for all assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular interactions and exceptional service.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, and technical requirements.

Request for Quotation (RFQ) Management:

  • Enter and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to finalize pricing letters and other sales documentation.

Sales Coordination:

  • Work closely with Business Development Directors to provide updates and insights on customer accounts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements and deliverables.

Issue Resolution:

  • Proactively address and resolve quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, and delivery or expedite issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer challenges.

Technical Support and Compliance:

  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of customer requirements and provide feedback to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all customer form requirements, audits, and compliance standards are met.

Customer Engagement:

  • Conduct virtual and face-to-face meetings with customers to discuss ongoing projects, resolve issues, and strengthen relationships.
  • Represent Trans-Matic professionally at all customer engagements, including on-site visits and presentations.
  • Stay informed about customer needs and industry trends to anticipate opportunities.

Account Growth:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for account growth and additional revenue streams.
  • Provide input on strategic sales initiatives to support company goals.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in account management, sales, project management, or project engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or technical industry.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical products and related product design.
  • Working knowledge of precision componentry; functions, and fit/mating characteristics.
  • Value engineering capability and ability to interact with product design engineering.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to conceptualize and articulate complex technical information to others.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and on-site visits.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Experience in precision manufacturing, metal forming, or related industries.
