Locums Emergency Medicine Physician
A community hospital in Mt. Pleasant, MI is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a broad range of emergency conditions in a moderate-volume emergency department with strong hospital support.
Schedule:
12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Coverage needed 7 days per week
Facility & ED Details:
Annual ED Volume: ~20,000 visits
Average Daily Volume: 54 patients
ED Beds: 18
Trauma Designation: Provisional Level IV
Admissions from ED: ~90% of total hospital admissions
ED Admission Rate: ~8%
Transfer Rate: ~2%
EMR: Cerner
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients of all acuity levels.
Manage medical, surgical, and trauma presentations in a Level IV trauma setting.
Perform emergency procedures consistent with training and experience.
Coordinate care with consultants and inpatient teams as needed.
Document all patient encounters accurately in Cerner EMR.
Requirements:
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine orFamily Medicine with a minimum of 2+ years of emergency department experience
Active Michigan medical license
DEA registration
BLS required
ACLS and ATLS required
PALS required for non-EM board-certified physicians
