Job Summary Med/Surg Nurses provide direct, individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans Preparing, administering (oral, subcutaneous, IV), and documenting prescribed medications Reporting adverse reactions in accordance with medication administration policies Educating patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment care Recording patient medical information and vital signs Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment; interpreting and documenting electronic displays Initiating corrective action for adverse symptoms Providing bedside care for medical and pre-/post-surgical patients Initiating and reinforcing patient education plans Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs Assisting physicians during examinations and treatments Responding to life-saving situations per nursing standards and protocol Participating in discharge planning Demonstrating strong time management skills Accurately and concisely documenting all care provided Performing additional position-related duties as assigned Facility Requirements ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications required (Must be through the American Heart Association and attached to submission packet) Must have WY RN license or Multi-State RN license (attach to resume) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting May occasionally care for pediatric/adolescent patients (no dedicated peds unit) Must be willing to float between Lander and Riverton campuses based on census SageWest coversheet must be attached to submission Submission Requirements (MANDATORY TEMPLATE) ⚠️ Submissions without the required template will be rejected.
