** Purpose:
**
Provide leadership, continuity and oversee all manufacturing activities of the Conventional Extrusion Department from receiving orders to shipping product. Maximizing production output, utilizing capital equipment and personnel to ensure cost effective manufacturing meeting customer demands.

This position is directly responsible for the operating efficiency of the Conventional Extrusion Department.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
** :
Provide leadership and continuity between all manufacturing supervisors on all shifts.
Coordinate efforts of Production, Engineering, Quality and Shipping to ensure efficient flow of product through the process.
Monitoring the production processes, planning and creating production schedules keeping in mind customer needs, relevant constraints such as personnel, equipment and supplies. Communicating the plan to staff for execution.
Maximize production output, utilizing capital equipment and personnel to ensure cost effective manufacturing to meet customer demands.
Evaluate the performance of Production Supervisors, Fabrication Supervisor, Shipping/Receiving Leader,
Screw Extrusion Trainer and GP Clerk/Material Handler. Keeping them motivated, developing them and identifying any training needs.
Identify raw material requirements, equipment and human resources required to satisfy customer demand.
Ensure raw materials, additives, colorants and packaging supplies are procured to comply with schedule.
Map out timelines for incoming work from sales considering production schedule and backlog and responding to lead-time inquiries and probable future ship dates.
Identify future needs for manufacturing assets and employees.
Maximize production equipment utilization, production personnel efficiency, and ensure efficient flow of product through manufacturing.
Purchasing authority to sign requisitions and invoices expensed for fabrication, material and additive purchases, production and shop expenses.
Carryout established goals and policies and complying with the ISO Quality System. Communicating to subordinates on such issues as the goals of the organization, quality standards, work performance and organizational issues.
Monitor department expenses and make corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure compliance with State and Federal safety regulations.
Maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Exhibit supportive positive behavior in all interactions with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers.
** Other Functions:
**
Coordinate physical and cycle inventory counts for the Conventional Division
Plan, organize and oversee year-end physical inventory for Conventional Division.
Coordinate efforts between Accounting, Sales, Engineering and Purchasing to disposition and control obsolete finished goods and raw material inventory.
Support and comply with Lean training/initiative programs.
Promote Lean and Safety efforts throughout the organization.
Evaluate current processes for continuous improvement opportunities.
Work with these related departments on an ancillary basis and have input on how they relate to, and affect the plant: Human Resources, Inside and Outside Sales, Cost Quotations, Purchasing and Inventory Control, Accounting and Information Systems.

Ability to perform necessary duties and responsibilities of subordinates in their absence.
Travel to ensure customer satisfaction.
** Minimum Requirements:
**
**Skills/ knowledge:
**- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc..
**Experience/Education
**Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to public groups and the board of directors.
**Math Skills
**Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
**Reasoning Ability
**Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
**Physical Demands
**Primarily sedentary work, however some walking and standing may be required. Speech and hearing are necessary for communicating with employees, customers and suppliers.
**Vision Requirements:
**- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) for computer screen and reading documentation.
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
**Work Environment
**Low risks or discomforts, requires alertness while moving around machines with hot and moving parts. Moderate noise level in plant area with continuous banging, and intermittent high-pitched noise from saws.
