Job Description

This role focuses on the day-to-day production and packaging of components used in medical devices within a cleanroom manufacturing environment. As a Cleanroom Assembler, you contribute directly to products that help alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for patients worldwide. You work as part of a dedicated, high-performing manufacturing team that prioritizes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and meeting production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of production assembly tasks, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive operations, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal assembly instructions to complete assembly and packaging tasks accurately.
  • Set initial layouts and use appropriate tools to prepare products for further processing or packaging.
  • Conduct continuity checks on work in process and finished products to verify proper function and assembly.
  • Perform quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with established quality specifications and standards.
  • Operate packaging machinery as needed to package components and products safely and efficiently.
  • Box finished products and apply labeling materials in compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently adhere to cleanroom protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and maintenance of a controlled, contamination-free environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and help achieve daily and long-term production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform general labor and assembly tasks in a production environment.
  • Capability to work effectively in a cleanroom setting while following strict cleanliness and safety protocols.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Comfort with using visual aids, diagrams, schematics, and written or verbal instructions to complete work.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality and accuracy.
  • No prior assembly experience required; readiness to learn and follow training is essential.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including remaining independently mobile and interacting with equipment and computers as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience using measuring devices and hand tools is preferred.
  • Experience as a clean room technician, even without prior experience, is welcome.
  • Familiarity with medical assembly or production of medical products is beneficial.
  • Understanding of basic quality control practices and inspection techniques is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position is based in a cleanroom manufacturing facility where you work with medical device components under controlled conditions. You wear personal protective equipment, including eyewear, ear plugs, a hair net, and protective gowning, to maintain product quality and safety. The environment is air conditioned and primarily sit-down, providing a comfortable setting for focused assembly and packaging work. You may use measuring devices, hand tools, and packaging machinery as part of your daily tasks. The role is on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and you collaborate closely with peers and co-workers while following all applicable work conditions and physical requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
