Job Title: Digital Signal Processing Software Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our advanced engineering team at a leading Tier One automotive supplier. The DSP Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing signal processing algorithms for automotive applications such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, active noise cancellation, and in-vehicle communication systems. This role requires strong expertise in DSP theory, embedded systems, and real-time implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DSP algorithms for audio, sensor data, and communication systems in automotive environments.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate DSP solutions into embedded platforms.
• Analyze and optimize algorithms for real-time performance, memory usage, and power efficiency.
• Develop test plans, perform simulations, and validate DSP algorithms under automotive conditions.
• Work closely with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and compliance certifications.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in DSP algorithm development and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of DSP theory (filter design, FFT, adaptive filtering, etc.).
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, and embedded systems programming.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller/DSP architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

• Skills in algorithm development.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days in-office and 2-3 days remote. It is required to be on-site on Wednesdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington Hills, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $95.00/hr.
