Employment Category: Full time (36 hours) weekly (4 day work week)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, with the possibility of an additional day(s) per week and one Saturday per month.
Reports To: Patient Experience Manager
Salary: $21-$24, based on experience. Additional $1/hr after 3-month probationary period
Summary: Michigan Progressive Health (MPH) is expanding our team! We are looking for a highly motivated, organized and compassionate individual who will play a key role in MPH day to day operations. They will assist in ensuring the clinic is a clean, safe, and a friendly environment, while working as a team with our Doctors, PA’s, RN’s, and Therapists. This position will be centered on patient care as patients move through their ketamine treatment, but will also include elements of patient intake, scheduling support, and insurance billing. Excellent communication skills and organization are a must.
Michigan Progressive Health is a specialized clinic offering Spravato and integrative ketamine therapy for the treatment of: depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, CRPS, chronic pain with locations in both Royal Oak and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The patient intake coordinator is the first point of contact for potential patients with MPH. We are in search of someone who is intelligent, open-minded, and compassionate about our integrative therapeutic approach.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Welcomes all patients and visitors in a positive, friendly, professional, and customer service-oriented manner, announcing and directing visitors to appropriate staff.
- Assist patients in the check-in process via our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls in a customer-friendly and professional manner and forward to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Answer questions about our treatment programs.
- Schedule patients’ appointments, verify schedule activity.
- Accurately register patients, including insurance information.
- Responsible for collections of payments using credit card processing, checks, and cash while supplying proper receipts.
- Review patients’ insurance information to determine and collect appropriate co-payment and co-insurance fees.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, financial, and clinical information and following MPH policies and procedures as they apply to our patients’ services.
- Attend in-services, conferences, and training seminars and participate in Team and all staff meetings.
- Maintain a clean working area, including orderliness and cleanliness of the reception and common areas.
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree or higher.
- A minimum of two years of combined education and experience in client registration, health records; or other direct health care experience.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Medical billing knowledge and experience preferred.
