Grand Rapids Lighting Center, an established leader in the lighting industry, is excited to announce a vacant position for an Inventory Coordinator. We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic individual to join our full-time, in-house team. This role is instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our inventory, which is crucial for our operations' continuous success. Please note that this is not a remote job, and the successful candidate will be expected to work from our main office in Grand Rapids.

The Inventory Coordinator will play a key role in managing the lifecycle of our extensive range of lighting products. From receiving shipments to managing stock levels and coordinating with other departments, the ideal candidate will ensure that our inventory supports our goal of delivering excellence in every aspect of our business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through the use of manual or automated systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse departments to manage inventory needs.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with inventory records.
  • Identify discrepancies in inventory records and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on inventory levels, potential shortages, and surplus.
  • Initiate returns of damaged goods and manage inventory adjustments and write-offs.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
  • Train staff on proper inventory handling and tracking processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and handling regulations during storage and transport of inventory items.
  • Optimize inventory management systems for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings with management and other relevant departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Coordinator or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights based on findings.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and inventory software programs.
  • Physical ability to move or lift heavy items when needed.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills to interact with various departments.
  • Commitment to ethical inventory practices and company policies.
