Title: Instructional Designer I
Location: Jackson, MI
Duration: 12+ Months
- Core Instructional Design Skills
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create effective, engaging learning solutions.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze learning needs and translate complex utility concepts into clear, learner-centered content.
- Design and develop training deliverables, including:
- Instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training (ILT/VILT)
- E-learning modules
- Microlearning assets
- Video-based learning solutions
- Create storyboards, scripts, and learning outlines aligned to performance objectives.
- Maintain and update existing learning materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
- Ensure learning solutions meet accessibility, usability, and quality standards.
- Video Production (Pre Production, Production & Post Production)
- Lead video pre-production activities, including:
- Writing video scripts and interview questions.
- Creating shot lists and production plans.
Coordinating schedules, locations, and SMEs.
- Set up and conduct video shoots, including:
- Camera, lighting, and basic audio setup
- Coaching on-screen participants as needed
- Perform post-production editing, including:
- Syncing audio and video
- Trimming and cutting footage
- Adding titles, lower thirds, callouts, and simple animated elements
- Incorporating graphics, screen recordings, or motion elements as appropriate.
- Optimize videos for different delivery platforms (LMS, intranet, mobile, etc.)
- Follow brand, style, and quality standards for all video assets
