Middle School Social Studies Teacher
Location: Lakeshore Middle School, Stevensville, MI 49127
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Highly Qualified Endorsements
in Social Studies (RX or CA, CC or CD) - Valid teaching license/certification
- Prior experience teaching middle school social studies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of historical content, concepts, and skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team of teachers.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum objectives.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to further the goals of Professional Learning Communities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in social studies education.
