responsibilities:

• Analytical Testing: Perform routine and complex laboratory analyses, including titrations, pH measurements, and HPLC, to ensure product quality and safety.
• Method Validation & Innovation: Research, develop, and implement new analytical methodologies; conduct method validations and verifications to keep the lab at the cutting edge.
• Compliance & Quality Systems: Maintain strict adherence to laboratory compliance systems; create or revise work instructions and logbooks to ensure alignment with global standards.
• Data Interpretation: Utilize critical thinking to troubleshoot instrument abnormalities and interpret data trends to assist with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Operational Excellence: Perform peer reviews of laboratory data, manage control charting (Excel/QStat), and conduct investigations into out-of-specification (OOS) results.
• Instrument Stewardship: Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on sophisticated laboratory instrumentation to ensure zero downtime.

qualifications:

Required:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry, Food Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic analytical chemistry techniques, specifically titrations, pH measurement, and HPLC.
• Data Literacy: Strong competency in Excel for data summary, charting, and report generation.
• Operational Flexibility: Ability to work a consistent 12-hour alternative shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on-site in Fremont, MI.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or ISO-certified laboratory environment.
• Experience with method development or validation protocols.
• Familiarity with Food Science safety standards and contaminant testing.
