Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate comprehensive cost estimates for manufacturing projects, including material, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to determine project requirements.
• Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for customers based on estimated costs.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs or timelines.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and pricing models to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to refine estimates and optimize manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of proven experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and material specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor, and overhead cost drivers.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with estimating software or ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities for accurate cost calculation and data analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design interpretation and material take-offs.
• Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or specialized estimating software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience utilizing data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for cost modeling and reporting.
