Job Title:  Junior   Buyer

Job Summary:

DigiTek is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Buyer to support our purchasing and supply chain operations. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone looking to begin or grow their career in purchasing or supply chain.

The Junior Buyer will assist with sourcing materials, creating purchase orders, and ensuring parts arrive on time to support production. This position works closely with internal teams and suppliers and will receive guidance and training from the Supply Chain Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with sourcing commercial products, materials, and services for production and operations



• Create and process purchase orders for approved items



• Follow up on open purchase orders to confirm order status and delivery dates



• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and order updates



• Maintain accurate purchasing records in the company system



• Support inventory tracking and help monitor stock levels



• Work with internal departments to ensure materials are ordered in a timely manner



• Help identify cost-saving opportunities under the guidance of management



• Provide general administrative support to the Supply Chain/Purchasing team

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or related fields) or equivalent work experience



• 0-2 years of experience in purchasing, administration, manufacturing, or related field



• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills



• Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams



• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)



• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Work Environment:

The company has two facilities in Livonia, Michigan, approximately half a mile apart. This role will be in an office setting within a manufacturing environment. We strive for a supportive, empowering and collaborative culture.
