St. George Tanaq Corporation (SGT), an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC), is committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders. SGT is privately owned by Alaska Natives, and stock is not publicly traded.

About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant to support the Accounting department with accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting tasks, and other duties as assigned.

This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be located in the United States.

Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Input vendor and client invoices into the accounting system for active projects

  • Follow up with Project Managers for invoices needing approvals

  • Work with Project Managers to complete Accounts receivable analysis and reconciliation

  • Maintain pay when paid schedules

  • Maintain Outstanding AP/AR

  • Provide support for internal and external audit

  • New project set up and personnel assignment in the Unanet accounting system

  • Submit accounts receivable invoices using Government pay sites, such as WAWF and IPP

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and/or general accounting tasks

  • Prior government contracting experience preferred - understands overhead, G&A, unallowable expenses, cost pools, etc.

  • Experience with Unanet preferred

  • Experience with WAWF preferred

  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and remain motivated is required

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion in a professional manner

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and Access) required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitude and personal responsibility

  • Experience with Paylocity preferred

Education and Training

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business or similar field; five (5) years of equivalent combination of training, education and experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of an Associate's degree.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
