Quality Engineer | Norton Shores, MI
Salary Range: $67,000 - $101,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor key process indicators (KPIs) and utilize statistical process control (SPC) to maintain and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues and reduce scrap/rework.
- Manage and resolve customer quality complaints, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and specifications.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by establishing quality gates, inspection methods, and validation protocols.
- Maintain and update quality management system documentation and records.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical) or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Control Plans).
- Demonstrated experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO 13485).
- Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process capability and data interpretation.
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
- Experience with specific industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949)
- Familiarity with CAD software and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
