Large utility is looking for a Meter Technical Analyst in Jackson, MI. This role requires a technical or business degree and at least 2 years of experience to perform data diagnostics, troubleshooting, and SAP master data maintenance for smart metering systems using analytical and LEAN problem-solving skills. responsibilities:

• Corrects and maintains device master data for general and complex smart metering systems.

• Monitors the health and reliability of over 3.6 million gas and electric smart devices daily.

• Performs technical troubleshooting across multiple systems to resolve device and data discrepancies.

• Uses LEAN business tools to visualize data and drive operational efficiency.

• Conducts detailed investigations and root cause analysis on system and process exceptions.

• Queries various enterprise systems to detect and resolve data integrity issues.

• Evaluates system error messages and failed workflows related to field work orders.

• Collaborates with internal departments to implement corrective actions and prevent issue recurrence.

• Maintains technical records, logs, and spreadsheets within SAP and other enterprise platforms.

• Ensures metering device data accuracy across all enterprise-level systems.

Skills:

• Proven analytical and diagnostics skills and ability to look for alternate solutions.

• strong oral and written communication and organizational skills (time management and multi-tasking).

• Experience using computer software (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external clients and coordinate activities across multiple locations and departments.

Desired Skills:

• Operating a headend system (e.g. MV90, OpenWay, UIQ).

• Knowledge of electric and gas meter communication methods.

• Experience with electric and gas interval billing.

• Experience with SAP.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technical with 2 years of relevant experience or

• Associate's Degree in Business, Technical with 4 years of relevant experience or

• High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
