POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an energetic, caring, and responsible individual who loves working with children in a fast-paced, fun environment. As the KidStop Supervisor, you will oversee our drop-in babysitting service that supports members while they engage in wellness activities. You’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming space for children ages 1–12, engaging them in age-appropriate games, music, and movement activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the safety, supervision, and care of all children in the KidStop program.
• Build positive relationships with children and parents through active engagement and clear communication.
• Facilitate activities that promote joy, creativity, and connection.
• Support children’s individual needs (snacks, bottle feeding, comfort, etc.).
• Keep the space clean and sanitized, including toys and surfaces.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all.

QUALIFICIATIONS:

• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• Experience working with children ages 1–12 preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Must demonstrate caring, nurturing, and responsible behavior at all times.
• Ability to supervise up to 15 children at once.
• Commitment to the YMCA’s mission and values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to move quickly to ensure child safety.
• Occasional lifting and movement of up to 10 lbs.
• Visual acuity for supervision and safety.
