Electro-Mechanical Solutions Account Executive

At HECO’s Metro Detroit Service Center, we’re looking for someone who turns plant-floor conversations into solutions—someone who can spot opportunities across repair, product sales, equipment management, and reliability/predictive services and make them real.
Your mission
Grow new accounts and new business throughout the Detroit market using modern sales tactics and consistent on-site presence. Convert targeted prospects into dependable base accounts by earning trust with purchasing, maintenance, management, reliability, and engineering teams.
What the work looks like
- Continuously develop your Detroit territory/accounts with a focus on new accounts and net-new business within HECO’s Metro Detroit Service Center service area.
- Be visible on-site so targeted accounts become regular base accounts across Metro Detroit.
- Engage decision-makers and influencers—purchasing, maintenance, management, reliability, engineering—to uncover opportunities across repair, product sales, equipment management, and reliability/predictive services.
- Own the orchestration of communications during quoting and estimating: confirm follow-ups happen, verify expectations are met, and ensure messages are clear, concise, and complete while coordinating with HECO personnel.
- Respond to requests to inspect or examine troublesome/failed motors, evaluate potential replacements, and identify spare opportunities at customer sites. Capture photo documentation and measurements, then convey accurate data to Customer Service/Engineering to determine correct replacement motor parameters.
- Gather the story behind motor-related failures to open conversations about additional HECO services.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Service on pricing and lead times; if we’re not aligned with competition, determine why and persuasively position HECO as the best overall solution.
- Stay fluent in your customers’ current and upcoming projects that could benefit from HECO’s services or products.
- Know each customer’s spend/budget by service offering and forecast next fiscal year’s financial target.
- Deliver compelling proposals and drive persuasive selling, then follow through from concept to implementation on all proposed and active projects for your assigned and developed accounts.

- Attend all weekly sales calls and Level 10 meetings.
- Schedule one-on-ones and team planning/sales sessions prepared to discuss strategic planning, business development, training, and refocusing efforts.
- Commit to mutually defined annual sales goals—and meet them.
Where you’ll focus
Metro Detroit, building relationships and business through regular field engagement within HECO’s Metro Detroit Service Center territory.
