Automotive Service Manager with mechanical experience
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager with strong mechanical knowledge to lead and support daily operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily shop operations, assisting technicians with diagnostics when needed, ensuring quality repairs, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the service department
- Manage and support automotive technicians and service staff
- Assist with diagnostics and complex mechanical issues when needed
- Schedule and prioritize repair orders efficiently
- Ensure quality control and timely completion of repairs
- Communicate with customers regarding service recommendations, timelines, and costs
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction
- Monitor shop productivity and workflow
- Order parts and manage inventory when required
- Ensure compliance with safety and company policies
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Manager or Senior Automotive Technician
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic experience
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with shop management
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certifications
- Experience with domestic and foreign vehicles
- Prior dealership or independent shop experience
