Telecommuting Eligibility: Eligible for telecommuting up to 20% (one day per week)

Position Summary

As a significant member of the Technology Division, the Assistant Director of Technology Operations provides leadership and oversight for operational, financial, and administrative functions of the Technology Division. This role manages division-wide budget processes, vendor contracts, onboarding logistics, and office operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant operations across all Technology Division sites. The Assistant Director serves as a critical liaison between the Technology Division, Finance, Facilities, Human Resources, vendors, schools and departments driving process standardization, staff training, and operational excellence. This position also leads culture and engagement initiatives to strengthen collaboration and community within the division. The ideal candidate is a service-driven leader who ensures schools, departments, and staff receive timely, reliable, and customer-focused support for technology operations. They combine strong financial and operational management skills with a commitment to advancing district priorities, improving processes, and fostering a positive culture that puts the needs of students and staff first.

Minimum¿Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in technology operations, finance, procurement, or administrative management.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, vendor oversight, and process development in a large organization.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise systems such as PeopleSoft or other ERP platforms.
  • Experience with SharePoint administration, digital content management, and operational documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a K-12 education or large public sector environment preferred.

Essential Functions

Division Budget Management

  • Oversee the requisitioning, invoicing, and financial reporting processes for the Technology Division.
  • Provide training and budget guidance to division managers.
  • Ensure compliance with Finance deadlines and resolve vendor payment delays.
  • Manage the division supply budget to ensure timely access to essential resources.
  • Manage copier services and contracts for all schools and departments.
  • Coordinate requisitions, funding requests, site assessments, and equipment relocation for copier vendor contracts districtwide.

Safety and Emergency Response

  • Serve as the building liaison for emergency response, coordinating with Public Safety, Facilities, and district leadership.
  • Ensure continuity of operations during drills, emergencies, and building incidents.
  • Oversee visitor access protocols for Technology Division sites.
  • Coordinate with Public Safety to ensure compliance with district visitor management procedures.
  • Serve as a primary contact for visitor-related logistics during meetings, convenings, and events.

Onboarding Leadership

  • Direct onboarding logistics for new hires and contractors, including ID badges, parking, building access, and orientation.
  • Partner with Facilities to workspaces are clean and ready for new hires.

Digital Content and SharePoint Administration

  • Serve as administrator for Technology Division SharePoint site and DK12 web content.
  • Maintain and update digital resources for division staff and district stakeholders.

Office and Facilities Operations

  • Manage office space, furnishings, equipment, and work orders across Technology Division sites.
  • Collaborate with assigned facilities vendors and Operations to ensure continuity of services, and timely completion of work orders.
  • Submit and track service requests for building repairs or reported issues.

Process Documentation and Staff Training

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver staff training to ensure clarity, compliance, and consistency in division operations.

Project and Initiative Support

  • Serve as a resource to advance division projects and district initiatives.
  • Support cross-functional teams in aligning efforts to district goals and timelines.

Scheduling and Convenings

  • Manage the Technology Division calendar.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings, leadership convenings, and other division-wide events.

Vendor Services Management

  • Coordinate contracted services including postage, scanning, shredding, and asset recovery.
  • Monitor service levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Division Culture and Engagement

  • Lead the division’s Hospitality Committee.
  • Coordinate recognition events, staff milestones, and activities that foster engagement and belonging.

Talent Support

  • Support hiring processes in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in assuming new responsibilities aligned to district priorities.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Security Clearance

Internal Applicants
