Sanitation Supervisor
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and hands-on individual to join our organization as a Sanitation Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sanitation activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining cleanliness, training employees, and prioritizing safety. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities:

Sanitation Operations Management:

• Supervise and actively participate in the execution of daily sanitation activities, including cleaning, sanitizing, waste management, and pest control, to ensure compliance with established procedures and schedules.

• Conduct regular inspections to assess sanitation conditions, identify areas for improvement, and take immediate corrective actions.

• Lead by example in maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.

• Collaborate with leadership to develop and update sanitation protocols, procedures, and guidelines.

• Oversee inventory of sanitation supplies, equipment, and chemicals, ensuring availability, proper storage, and efficient usage.

Employee Training and Development:

• Train and mentor sanitation staff on proper procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and personal hygiene practices.

• Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure employee understanding and adherence to sanitation standards.

• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement.

Safety and Compliance:

• Champion a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.

• Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards or risks in sanitation operations.

• Collaborate with health and safety personnel to implement safety programs, conduct training sessions, and investigate incidents.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant sanitation regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure sanitation processes meet established standards and regulations.

• Work with the quality assurance team to resolve sanitation-related issues impacting product quality or safety.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

• Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, and recommend updates or improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications preferred.

• Proven hands-on experience in sanitation operations, ideally in a manufacturing or food processing setting.

• Strong understanding of sanitation regulations and industry best practices.

• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train staff and collaborate across departments.

• Detail-oriented, strong problem-solver, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.

• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safety-first culture.

• Physical capability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting, and extended periods of standing.
