Sanitation Supervisor
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and hands-on individual to join our organization as a Sanitation Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sanitation activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining cleanliness, training employees, and prioritizing safety. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Responsibilities:
Sanitation Operations Management:
Supervise and actively participate in the execution of daily sanitation activities, including cleaning, sanitizing, waste management, and pest control, to ensure compliance with established procedures and schedules.
Conduct regular inspections to assess sanitation conditions, identify areas for improvement, and take immediate corrective actions.
Lead by example in maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and update sanitation protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
Oversee inventory of sanitation supplies, equipment, and chemicals, ensuring availability, proper storage, and efficient usage.
Employee Training and Development:
Train and mentor sanitation staff on proper procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and personal hygiene practices.
Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure employee understanding and adherence to sanitation standards.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
Champion a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards or risks in sanitation operations.
Collaborate with health and safety personnel to implement safety programs, conduct training sessions, and investigate incidents.
Ensure compliance with all relevant sanitation regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:
Implement quality control measures to ensure sanitation processes meet established standards and regulations.
Work with the quality assurance team to resolve sanitation-related issues impacting product quality or safety.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, and recommend updates or improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications preferred.
Proven hands-on experience in sanitation operations, ideally in a manufacturing or food processing setting.
Strong understanding of sanitation regulations and industry best practices.
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train staff and collaborate across departments.
Detail-oriented, strong problem-solver, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.
Strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safety-first culture.
Physical capability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting, and extended periods of standing.
