Commercial Refrigeration Technician
Job Summary
We have an opening for a full time experienced refrigeration technician. We are a small family owned commercial refrigeration service company. We are located in Livonia but service all of the metropolitan area. Benefits include available Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, dental and vision insurance, an IRA with 4% company match. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration units including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, HVAC design plans, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, replacing thermostats, checking refrigerant levels, and testing system components with tools like ohmmeters.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for repairs or modifications of equipment frames or piping.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using specialized tools; repair or replace defective parts promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports for each job.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans effectively.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical wiring, welding techniques.
- Ability to operate field service equipment including ohmmeters and diagnostic tools accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces safely. Join us as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician and become part of a dedicated team committed to excellence!
