Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel respiratory therapist contract)
• Location: Iron Mountain, MI 49801 (Michigan healthcare job)
• Duration: 13 weeks (September 2, 2025 – December 2, 2025)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00–19:00, Night: 19:00–07:00); every weekend required (no PFT on weekends)
• Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130–$2190

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
• Active Michigan State Respiratory Therapist License
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care associate degree program
• BLS and NRP certifications (AHA required)
• Meets NBRC certification and registration requirements
• First-time healthcare travelers are encouraged to apply
• Preferred: ACLS, PALS, CPFT, RPFT certifications

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
• Perform ABG interpretation, airway management, ventilator management, and emergency respiratory interventions
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and deliver neonatal and pediatric respiratory support
• Administer aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Utilize Paragon/Allscripts for acute care charting and T-System for emergency department documentation
• Float within the hospital as needed to support clinical care
• Participate in orientation and complete required healthcare modules
