• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Battle Creek, MI 49017 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Facility: 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: May float to other units and Bronson Methodist Hospital as needed
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130 - $2190

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM
• Preferred Certification: AWHONN Advanced
• Essential Skills: Circulate, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Triage
• Preferred Skills: Scrub
• Ability to work in all areas of LDRP and float as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)
• Professional references required

L&D RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
• Circulate and scrub in operating rooms for labor and delivery procedures
• Serve as newborn nurse at delivery and provide couplet care
• Perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens (training provided on ALGO 5 machine)
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic health record system
• Float to other nursing units and nearby hospital as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines and hospital policies
