Key Responsibilities

• Operate and program advanced CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision parts.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior machinists.
• Oversee daily machining operations, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.
• Perform quality inspections of finished products, ensuring adherence to blueprints, specifications, and tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, including machine malfunctions and process inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve part design for manufacturability.
• Maintain and organize tooling, fixtures, and raw materials, ensuring proper inventory levels.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a machinist, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expert proficiency in operating, setting up, and troubleshooting a diverse range of manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming, including the ability to edit, optimize, and debug CNC programs.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, capable of training junior machinists, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with CAD/CAM software for complex programming.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven experience mentoring junior machinists or developing training programs.
• Specialized expertise in machining exotic or difficult-to-machine materials.
