Role Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join their dynamic healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in delivering advanced, image-guided procedures in collaboration with a dedicated team of radiologists and healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:
Clearly explain interventional procedures to patients and prepare them physically and emotionally for the examination.
Collect and verify relevant patient medical history as needed.
Prepare and administer prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions.
Set up and operate specialized imaging equipment in accordance with established protocols, assisting the radiologist in complex diagnostic and invasive procedures.
Prepare sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and other tools required for each procedure.
Monitor and assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safety and comfort at every step.
Maintain and replenish stock of essential supplies such as catheters and needles.
Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting imaging techniques, positioning patients, and applying safety practices.
Assist in training and onboarding of new staff and students assigned to the department.
Ensure radiation safety by following ALARA principles and proper shielding techniques.
Manage image quality and integrity in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System), including study indexing and image verification.
Collaborate closely with radiologists to confirm clinical protocols prior to procedures.
Uphold the highest standards of patient care and professionalism by demonstrating consistent adherence to team excellence standards, including AIDET communication, respect, and innovation.
Complete all clinical documentation in compliance with department protocols and billing requirements.
Support continuous improvement by participating in Quality Assurance activities as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
ARRT advanced certification in one of the following:
Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI)
Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI)
Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV)
Minimum 3 years of previous experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist.
Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Cath Lab experience is required.
Desired Qualifications
Additional ARRT certifications beyond the required advanced registry.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical setting.
Location and Work Type:
On-site position based in Michigan.
This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
