Incoming Inspection Technician | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $43,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials and components against specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
• Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using various measurement tools and techniques.
• Verify supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and material certifications.
• Identify, document, and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, logs, and databases.
• Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve incoming material discrepancies.
• Operate and maintain inspection equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools such such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and non-conformance reporting processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify material defects or discrepancies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with specific CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• Basic understanding of material science (e.g., metallurgy, plastics).
• Knowledge of IPC standards for electronic components inspection.
