Job Summary:
Henry Ford Academy is a free, public charter academy seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Spanish Teacher to
join our dynamic educational community. This role requires a passionate educator who thrives in unique learning

these resources into their instruction to inspire critical thinking, communication skills, and a deeper appreciation
for history, culture and innovation within the context of Spanish language and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver Instruction
- Develop and implement engaging Spanish Language lessons aligned with state and local
- Integrate historical content and resources from The Henry Ford into classroom activities to
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Collaborate and Innovate
- Partner with fellow educators to design interdisciplinary projects and create dynamic learning
- Actively contribute to a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Engage Families and Community
- Participate in weekly staff meetings to align instructional strategies and school goals.
- Attend and contribute to parent-teacher conferences, providing feedback and strategies for
- Support and participate in school-wide events and initiatives.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and attendance.
- Stay current with educational best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative teaching

Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Language or a closely related discipline
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Spanish endorsement or equivalent certification.
- Strong understanding of MDE World Language standards.
- Preferred:
- Experience integrating primary sources and real-world experiences into the Spanish curriculum.
- Familiarity with project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.
- Ability to thrive in unique educational settings and leverage external resources for student

Work Environment, Conditions and Benefits:
The HFA Spanish Teacher will spend most of their time in the Museum campus of the Henry Ford
Academy—working with 9th graders, interacting with students and staff, and maintaining a positive school
atmosphere. The teacher may be required to teach upper grades and may also teach courses at the Greenfield
Village campus , if needed. The duty period is 8:00am to 4:00pm during typical school days, and includes a lunch
period with students, and a daily planning period. The English Teacher will also be present from 4:00-5:00pm on
scheduled school meetings days and must also be available for key afterschool activities including (conferences,
honors/award nights, NHS ceremony, graduation, and similar key school social events).

state wage averages
